VP Class Descriptions
TWO ON ONE – 2 athletes work with 1 coach. We customize the class based on what you want to work on.
SETTING – Covers basic posture, proper hand contact and footwork for setting. Court movement and partner drills to emphasize these concepts are the focus.
SERVE AND PASS – Posture, depth perception and ball control are the main focus areas of this class.
PASSING AND DEFENSE – Techniques for ball control, dig and recovery are broken down and defensive coverage areas are defined based on different game scenarios. All positions are encouraged to attend this class to improve their overall game as a volleyball player. This class is not limited to defenders only.
SETTING REPETITION - We focus on multiple touches on the ball and different set locations. Jump setting and attacking techniques are also covered.
MIDDLE HITTING AND BLOCKING – Emphasis on posture, footwork and good movement skills. Hand contact, arm swing, transition and attacking various fast attack sets are covered.
PIN HITTING AND BLOCKING – Outside Hitters and Right Side Hitters should be able to attack from both pins. Emphasis on posture, footwork and good movement skills. Hand contact, arm swing, transition and attacking various combination sets are covered.
SETTING FOR NON-SETTERS – Setting is a skill which all players should learn. Designed for non-setters to equip them with better overhand passing and setting skills. Posture, hand contact and footwork are focus areas.
DEFENSE FOR SETTERS – This class covers vulnerable areas on the court which setters are exposed to. Designed to teach setters better defensive and eye sequencing skills.
HITTING AND BLOCKING – Teaches young athletes the proper posture, footwork, hand contact, arm swing and transition techniques for hitting and blocking.
YOUTH ELITE OPEN GYM (12U-14U) – This class is structured like a Master Coaching practice. Structured drills and different game-play scenarios are covered. This is ideal for players with previous club or school team experience. Not recommended for beginners.
ELITE OPEN GYM (14U-18U) – This class is structured like a Master Coaching practice for high-level, experienced high school players. Structured drills and various 6-on-6 game play scenarios in a fast-paced sequence is the focus. This is ideal for players with high level club experience or varsity level experience. 14U’s must email firstname.lastname@example.org for approval in this class.
